356 B T6 1600 S
The first car to bear the Porsche name was the 356/1 prototype, a mid-engine roadster. Regarding its creation, Ferry Porsche said: “At first, I looked around, but I couldn’t find the car I’d been dreaming of. So I decided to build it myself.” The Porsche 356 went into production with a modified frame and a rear-mounted engine. The original Porsche 356 model was built from 1948 to 1955 as a coupé and a convertible, with four engine options.

The first production car rolled off the assembly line at the Stuttgart plant on Maundy Thursday, April 6, 1950. The Porsche 356 A was built from October 1955 through September 1959 as a coupé, cabriolet, and speedster—and, starting in 1958, as a Convertible D—as well as, starting in 1958, as a “hardtop” with a removable roof. The Porsche 356 B was produced from the fall of 1959 through 1963 as a coupé, cabriolet/hardtop, and roadster (the roadster serving as the successor to the Convertible D).
The Porsche 356 B T6 offered here, in the rare “Osloblau” color with red leather interior, was built for the North American market and first registered in Canada in July 1963. A few years ago, the small sports car was restored there and repainted in its original color. After likely having had about two previous owners, the attractive coupe was acquired by the seller in 2018, imported to Switzerland, and first registered here in December of that year. After driving about 200 km, he realized that his Porsche likely had a few issues and took the 356 to the classic car department at the Porsche Center Zurich.
In 2020, the matching-number engine underwent a partial overhaul there. Among other things, the cylinder heads were rebuilt and fitted with new valve guides, new pistons were installed, the camshaft sprockets were replaced, all gaskets were replaced, the carburetors were overhauled, and an electronic 123 ignition system was installed. In addition, the suspension was overhauled and several minor issues were resolved. Approximately CHF 30,000 was invested. Since its completion in January 2021, this small sports car has covered only about 600 km and is in very good technical condition. The bodywork is beautiful, and the interior is in a very original condition, featuring a patina appropriate for its age. The most recent vehicle inspection (MFK) as a classic car took place in January 2026, meaning this fantastic 356 can be registered and enjoyed immediately.
